LPC-Associate Supervision

Education and Training

Rita Hernandez, MA, LPC-S follows a developmental supervision model. 

Associates are offered individual, triadic and group supervision. 

During supervised experience LPC-Associates have the opportunity to:

  • Stay informed of changes in Texas State Board of Examiners for Professional Counselors and Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC).

  • Receive supervision according to your interests, skills set and professional goals.

  • Establish a professional network of colleagues and support.

  • Explore limits and overcome challenges.

  • Receive a supervision experience that will help with navigating the rules, ethical responsibilities and complex issues that cannot be taught in a graduate program. Hence the 3000 hr requirement.

Potential Associates must:

  • Schedule an initial consultation.

  • Receive and invitation for a full interview.

  • Provide letter of reference from graduate internship supervisor.

  • If transferring from another LPC-S, provide a release to discuss development and competencies.


Upon receiving a signed Supervised Agreement Form potential Associates must:

  • Secure liability insurance.

  • Commit to 4hrs of supervision each month.

  • Sign a Supervision Contract.
